Our Lord and Savior commanded those who love and follow Him to... "Do this in Remembrance of Me."
No where in the Word of God is anyone prohibited from either doing this in private, or from leading others through this blessed remembrance experience.
Based on the importance that Father God places on the spoken word, the remembrance is to be done out loud.
American Standard Version... Luke 22:14-20
Luk 22:14 And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the apostles with him.
Luk 22:15 And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer:
Luk 22:16 for I say unto you, I shall not eat it, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.
Luk 22:17 And he received a cup, and when he had given thanks, he said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves:
Luk 22:18 for I say unto you, I shall not drink from henceforth of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come.
Luk 22:19 And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he brake it, and gave to them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.
Luk 22:20 And the cup in like manner after supper, saying, This cup is the new covenant in my blood, even that which is poured out for you.
The Bread
Jesus said: This is My Body which is given for you.
Jesus bore on His body all our sickness, griefs, weaknesses, distress, sorrow and pain. He was wounded for our transgressions, bruised for our guilt and our iniquities and He bore the chastisement needfull to obtain peace with God and well being for us and with the stripes that wounded Him...we are healed and made whole.
Before we take this bread into our body, let us remember that we have healing for our body, our mind, and our spirit. Let us search ourselves in prayer and ask the holy spirit to bring to our attention anything in our body or mind that would exalt itself against this awsome truth of God's word to us.
After this time of searching: Take and Eat. Praise Him for His Grace and for the healing of our mind and body.
The Cup
Jesus said: This is My Blood of the covenant which is shed on the behalf of many for forgiveness of sins. Jesus' Blood was poured out as the perfect and complete sacrifice for the forgiveness of our sins and through this act the New Covenant was sealed and ratified...giving us eternal life with HIm and right standing with God. We have been given acess to God through our high priest, Jesus Christ. He has made us, who believe, trust and rely on Him, the true see of Abraham and therefore entitling us to all the promises of God to us in His Word.
As we drink this cup let us do it in remembrance of His Love that He showed to us by becoming our passover Lamb and of all the blessings of God that we have received through Him, Jesus Christ...our Savior.
Take and Drink...Praise Him for His Grace and Love.
