Finally, build up your strength in union with the Lord and by means of his mighty power. Put on all the armor that God gives you, so that you will be able to stand up against the Devil's evil tricks. For we are not fighting against human beings but against the wicked spiritual forces in the heavenly world, the rulers, authorities, and cosmic powers of this dark age. So put on God's armor now! Then when the evil day comes, you will be able to resist the enemy's attacks; and after fighting to the end, you will still hold your ground. So stand ready, with truth as a belt tight around your waist, with righteousness as your breastplate, and as your shoes the readiness to announce the Good News of peace. At all times carry faith as a shield; for with it you will be able to put out all the burning arrows shot by the Evil One. And accept salvation as a helmet, and the word of God as the sword which the Spirit gives you. Do all this in prayer, asking for God's help. Pray on every occasion, as the Spirit leads. For this reason keep alert and never give up; pray always for all God's people.

I stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth around my loins, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for my feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances I take up the shield of faith, with which I can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one. I take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. I pray at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end I keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints.

We will be strong in the Lord. Empowered thru our union with Him. We draw our strength from Him. That strength which His boundless might provides. We put on God’s whole armor, the armor of the heavy armed soldier which God supplies, that we may be able successfully to stand up against all the strategies and deceits of the devil. For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood, contending only with physical opponents, but against the despotisms against the powers, against the master spirits who are the world rulers of this present darkness, and against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly supernatural sphere. Therefore we put on God’s whole armor that we may be able to resist and stand our ground on the evil day of danger, and having done all the crisis demands, to stand firmly in our place. We stand therefore holding our ground having tighten the belt of truth around our loins and having put on the breastplate of integrity and moral rectitude and right standing with God. And having shod our feet in preparation to face the enemy with the firm footed stability, the promptness, and the readiness, produced by the good news of the Gospel of peace. We lift up over all the covering shield of saving faith upon which we can quench all the flaming missiles of the wicked one. We take the helmet of salvation and the sword that the spirit wields which is the Word of God. We pray at all times, on every occasion, in every season, in the spirit, with all manner of prayer and entreaty. To that end we keep alert and watch with strong purpose and perseverance, interceding in behalf of all the saints, God’s consecrated people
