Truth is, only God can change us. The thing is, we always want God to change the other person that we don’t agree with. It becomes so easy to assume that they need changed instead of us. Why can’t we see inside ourselves? Why do we have to get the log out of our own eye? Guess! We are so busy with others, or even ourselves, that we don’t always ask God.

Many have been hurt so much that they become hardened in their hearts. Fear takes hold and we begin to use God’s word to hide our own feelings. Feelings, the one thing everyone wants to avoid. Maybe we should just hide from everyone. Become a recluse in our own home. Better yet lets be a people pleasers. If I can please everyone then I can skate by and no one will see inside me. What’s that scripture that say’s “Know that if the world hates you remember that it hated me also,” (John 15:18)

I know when someone rebukes me or disagrees with me I must be doing something for God! Really? Let me change the meaning so I can be all about self. Self is a good thing. Self preservation, self gratifying, self awareness. Self is good. Oh wait I am to be concerned about others. I get so confused. That’s ok, I am forgiven. What??????????
